Jungleland Clarence Clemons Solo

We found another video that we felt was worth passing on. It's "Jungleland Clarence Clemons Solo ".

Jungleland Bruce Springsteen - The Best Song?

A love story amidst gang violence, that's what resonates from the Jungleland Bruce Springsteen song.

*Insider Tip* If you like Bruce Springsteen then you might also check out AirHammer. To download a copy of their latest amazing new single for...FREE CLICK HERE NOW! they have been playing shows all over London and building up a massive fan base. Get the free tracks before they are taken offline.

This almost 10 minute song features a distinct saxophone performance from E Street Bands Clarence Clemons, a soft 23-note violin introduction of the song and the piano rendition of Roy Bittan at the opening. This song is included in the 1975 hit album of the band, Born To Run.

The song opens with a hint of desperation that slowly turns into despair then defeat.
The "Rat" and the barefoot girl are the 2 vital characters in the story of the song. The song starts with the Rat driving his machine over the Jersey line and meets with the barefoot girl. Together they spell romance and get lost from sight down the Flamingo Lane. Then the song tells of some sort of the city and the gang where the rat is involved.

The song refers occasionally to the conflict of the rat and the police. After the extended solo of Clemon's, the fall of the Rat is told. The song ends with description how the death of the Rat ends in vain and how the people around never care about him. "No one watches as the ambulance pulls away or as the girl shuts out the bedroom light. Man the poets down here write nothing at all. They just stand back and let it all be", goes the closing stanza.

If you have not heard the song before you need to check it out as soon as you can, you really will love it.

How Jackass Pushed the Boundaries

Despite the fact that it is now over a decade old, the Jackass franchise is going from strength to strength with the original cast all still alive and well despite all of the crazy stunts and pranks they've pulled over the years. And if you're a fan of the franchise, you'll certainly be pleased to hear that Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera and Steve-O are all alive and kicking - and appearing on DVD with the release of the third hilarious Jackass film, Jackass 3D.

Like many films over the last few years, the Jackass team decided to tap into the 3D market, and the fast moving action packed film lends itself very well to the 3D cameras. Now you'll be able to witness the hair-raising action as if it's happening right in front of you, which should make for a hilarious and perhaps slightly terrifying experience. In any case, Jackass 3D is another boundary-pushing hearty instalment of pranks and stunts that is fully in keeping with its popular predecessors.

In today's cut-throat movie industry, Jackass pioneered the way towards outrageous movies by pushing the boundaries of what is considered funny, painful, daring and down-right crazy. Many horror movies in the last decade have relied strongly on scenes of extreme violence alongside very little plot - whereas Jackass has relied on its lovable characters and hilarious stunts with the end result being a collection of entertaining stunts and pranks, not just mindless violence. The point of the franchise is to push the limits of imagination in an entertaining, tongue-in-cheek way whilst still being safe. That said, it would certainly be a good idea to never even consider undertaking some of the stunts that the Jackass crew have over the years.

There is a kind of guilty pleasure in watching things like Jackass, after all, watching others get hurt with a funny spin on it seems to offer a sort of joy to a viewer without them being hurt themselves. People watch Jackass for similar reasons that they watch reality TV: they want to get to know the characters' and predict their reactions to certain situations, in this case: stunts. It's also human nature to find out about other people's lives when they are different from what is considered the norm.

And with the Jackass 3 DVD available now, you can do that in the comfort of your own home - just pay attention to the 'don't try this at home' warnings and you'll have a safe enough viewing experience!

Breaking Bones for a Living: The Johnny Knoxville Story

Johnny Knoxville, born Philip John Clapp on March 11, 1971, first came into the public consciousness at the start of the millennium as ringleader of the Jackass television programme. After graduating from high-school in his native Knoxville, Tennessee, Clapp decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, changing his name to Johnny Knoxville in tribute to his roots.

Finding it hard to get a big break in the City of Angels, Knoxville supported himself and his family by working in commercials as an extra and eventually started writing for skateboarding magazine Big Brother, performing stunts that would include testing self-defense equipment on himself, which would go on to become a staple of the magazine.

After meeting skateboard crew CKY and director Spike Jonze the concept of âJackassâ was born. The show ran for 3 seasons and featured Knoxville and his cohorts Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn and Steve-O amongst others, performing daring stunts, often incorporating humour to provide the viewer with canât-watch-canât-look-away footage, ranging from the simple â" letting a succession of people kick Knoxville in the groin while wearing a protective cup; to the more elaborate â" riding a miniature rocket.

The show instantly became a hit on MTV, turning the Jackass cast into celebrities overnight and helping Knoxville land parts in Hollywood films such as Men in Black II, The Ringer and most notably, the big-screen adaptation of The Dukes of Hazzard. The show was not without critics however, as some claimed the show was a new intellectual low in entertainment; despite the disclaimers and warnings aired at the start of episodes, the show and MTVs parent company Viacom still received lawsuits following copycats attempting to perform the onscreen stunts themselves, often with less-than-successful results.

After the show ended two Jackass films were made featuring footage even more extreme than what was allowed on TV. Both opened at No. 1 at the US Box office, and helped to successfully launch Jackass spin-offs Viva La Bam, Wildboyz and Dr. Steve-O.

More recently, Johnny Knoxville made headlines due to a particularly nasty motorbike accident. As part of a tribute to trailblazing daredevil Robert Evel Knievel, Johnny attempted to do a back flip on a motorcycle going up a small dirt hill. Unfortunately he lost control of the bike, sending it skywards for a few seconds before plummeting onto Knoxvilles body. The accident left Johnny with a torn urethra, but thanks to proper safety precautions, motorbike insurance and the best health care, Knoxville was able to make a full recovery within months.

As for the future, there are rumours of a third Jackass film being in production, but regardless whether it happens or not fans can expect to continue to see Johnny Knoxville taking risks on the big screen so they dont have to.

Jackass Three dimensional Assessment

Evaluation: How does one particular review "Jackass 3D"? The tertiary installment in MTVs prank and stunt franchise is basically immune to criticism because you get exactly what you shell out for. Really like it or dislike it, "Jackass 3D" accomplishes just about every little thing it sets out to; in impact, Johnny Knoxville scores a aim on an empty net.

I am the anomaly, but Id wager subsequent to no one is on the fence about whether or not or not they need to see this movie. They either contributed to the massive $50 million opening weekend box office cume, or they instantly dismissed it. In my situation, however, getting in no way witnessed the "Jackass" films wasn a aware snub. Feel it or not, there just usually appeared to be one thing much better to view.

But mines not a high horse. I sought out and watched "Jackass" and "Jackass: Range Two" the 7 days prior to my initial theater knowledge with the series, and Im glad I did. After all, I grew up on "Americas Funniest House Videos" and all through high college religiously followed the English hidden photographic camera exhibit "Trigger Pleased Television." "Jackass" is not as clever as the latter, but by measure of unbridled chutzpah, Knoxville and Co. are the reigning kings.

Like a Victorian freak exhibit or museum of oddities, the typically self-destructive experiments of the "Jackass" crew are the guilty pleasures of our generation. Theres a thing practically gladiatorial about viewing the elaborate hazards these brave idiots subject themselves to. Person vs. bull, person vs. mule, person vs. person-our fascination with competitors, spectacle, and damage is absolutely nothing new.

"Jackass 3D" currently being my first likelihood to observe other people response to these shenanigans, I was most surprised by the two-pronged response the audience obtained to the bodily trauma the performers sustained. A given stunt would be executed, usually resulting in its participant doubling more than in soreness. The crowd laughed, as theyd been cued to. The movie would then play back again the moment in gradual movement and out of the blue all people would groan or sharply inhale. Although we compensated to laugh at individuals injuring on their own, whats far more interesting is our capability to empathize with the depiction of human ache. That the "Jackass" films attain each is not an insignificant feat.

This isn the definitive "Jackass" expertise, however. Possessing watched all 3 movies in the span of a single week, I did discern a unique arc that left me considerably letdown with Knoxvilles most latest effort. "Jackass: Quantity Two" improved upon the authentic with a a lot more polished, specialist look, and more elaborate and inventive stunts. It gave the genuine impression that the crew was pushing its boundaries and trumping itself wherever achievable. That identical sense of pioneering is largely missing from "Jackass 3d." The glasses- gimmick looks to supplant genuine innovation in their program, and on the complete it feels slapdash in comparison to the conceptual genius of its prequel.

But what survives in "Jackass 3d," and what finally endeared me to the franchise is its creativity. Wherever it won me through was not in the painful payoff of every single trick, but somewhat in the setup. The use of the digicam to disorient, highlight, and shock is what truly can make the sequence sing, and the trilogy is full of epiphanic moments of hilarity. "Jackass" has and often will be a potpourri of comedic aspects, not all of which immediately appeal to my particular sensibilities, but the range is important and the entire is someway a lot more than the sum of its parts.

I only wish "Jackass 3D" obtained a lot more of the entrepreneurial spirit that so distinguished the second film. It may well not be ambitious, but hey, a purpose created on an vacant net nonetheless counts.

Nobody's Inspired By The Blame Game

Find Inspiration By Focusing On The Healing

by Michael D. Hume, M.S.

A little over a week ago in Tucson, Arizona, some nut named Jared Loughlin opened fire at a Congresswoman's community gathering, critically wounding her and killing and wounding several others. It's a national tragedy that few people would not have heard about by now.

Within two hours of the shooting, before the perpetrator's identity was even known to the press and public, left-wing pundits in no less a forum than the New York Times' web site were speculating that, despite a lack of any evidence, the notion that the shooter was "inspired" by vitriolic conservative rhetoric was "a good bet." Talking heads on the left-leaning media continued to politicize the event throughout that weekend and into last week, claiming such conservative voices as talk radio, Fox News, and Sarah Palin were responsible for this and other acts of violence.

No one was inspired by that.

The right fought back, pointing out not only a complete lack of evidence that Loughlin was inspired by conservative speech, but also the many indications that his political influences would have come, if from anywhere, from the left. Loughlin liked to read the works of Karl Marx and Adolph Hitler. He hated George W. Bush (even thought Bush was behind the 9-11 attacks). His friends described him as a pot-smoking hippie, and were the first to say his political leanings, if any, were leftward.

No one was inspired by that.

The president, after waiting several days to check polling data and to have an anti-violence t-shirt logo designed, flew to Arizona to preside over a "memorial service." Packing the crowd with students and liberals, the president and his handlers pulled off an event punctuated by loud cheers and applause that gave Mr. Obama's camp-revival style of oratory a perfect stage. He gave a good speech, and I have to give him credit for saying some of the best things I've ever heard him say (including a mention that right-wing rhetoric was not to blame for the Tucson shooting). But, lacking solemnity, the whole thing sounded more like a political pep rally than a memorial for the wounded and fallen.

No one was inspired by that.

Meanwhile, Rep. Gabby Giffords, shot in the head by Loughlin, lay in critical condition in the local hospital. At first, doctors said they did not hold much hope that Ms. Giffords would recover. But then more hopeful announcements were made by doctors, and have continued in a steady stream since hours after Giffords' initial surgery: the swelling looks pretty good after a day or two... after three days, we should be able to tell from the swelling how well she's responding, and it looks good... she responded to commands... she opened her eyes!... she drew breath on her own!... and just today, the announcement that her main breathing tube has been removed, and she might soon be able to speak. And her condition was upgraded from "critical" to "serious."

Now, that's inspiring.

Too much time and energy have been spent by the major institutions of our country (news media, infotainment, government) in debating who or what was responsible for the shooting of Gabby Giffords and others on January 8. It hasn't inspired anyone. Not enough time and energy have gone toward considering who or what is responsible for her recovery, described by her own doctors as nothing short of "miraculous."

Here on Earth, perhaps Rep. Giffords owes some of her recovery to the greatest medical system ever devised by mankind. Maybe we should all say a prayer of thanksgiving, or at least acknowledge how blessed we are to live in a country where (at least today) such great care is available. I guess that's somewhat inspiring. But the Divine influence on Ms. Giffords, on her doctors, on an anxious public full of ordinary people who are rooting for her recovery... now, that's REALLY inspiring.

Find a way to get inspired. If you can find inspiration from the recovery of Gabby Giffords, find it. Grasp it, and don't let go! Inspiration is a precious thing. It will help you to stay healthier yourself, to go about your business in the best way possible, and to better resist the dark forces at work in the world today.

Let's get inspired. Let's stop talking about how Gabby Giffords got into a hospital bed, and start talking about how she might, against all odds, one day climb out of it.

Bracelet sold by boy to raise money for Giffords

Isaac Saldana of Tucson, Ariz, who is just nine-year-old, was so worried when he heard about the shootings in his hometown that wanted to do something in response. Saldana wanted to know the best way to help Giffords raise money for them. He decided to gather some of his toys from home, as well as the diamond bracelets his father had gifted him after his deployments as a U.S. Marine.

According to the reports from HuffPost, he was reported saying that he felt really bad about Gabrielle being in the hospital and getting shot, so I just wanted to help her. Saldana could gather about a total of $2.85, he put the money into an envelope with a get-well card and mailed it to Giffords' hospital room. His mother, Aracely Saldana, was reported saying that she had no idea what his son was doing and what was going on.

Aracely Saldana, 30, who is a mother of three said that when she learned her son had raised the money and mailed it to Giffords without her knowing, she was so touched that she teared up. President Barack Obama spoke about the shootings in Tucson on Jan. 12; he referred to Green's death as a motivation for the nation to "live up to our children's expectations." Isaac Saldana has done a remarkable task and it will be remembered by everyone, and has done a challenging task in real sense. It was reported that Giffords' husband Mark Kelly has told to KVOA News in Tucson that he has planned to "get Saldana his lunch money back." But the boy has told that he has decided not to accept that. He said he doesn't need it but that lady needs it the most. Moreover that if one does help the person in need is worth a million of diamond jewelry.

Marilyn Monroe - Early life.....

Though Marilyn Monroe's difficult journey along the path to Hollywood stardom is often traced back to her early career as a model, her connections to the movie industry go back much further. With the benefit of hindsight, it would be easy to claim that these childhood brushes with Hollywood foretold her future career in show business, but in reality, many Los Angeles natives at one time or another have found themselves connected to "the industry."
Marilyn was no exception. Her mother, Gladys Baker Mortenson, worked as a film cutter at Consolidated Film Industries, a processing lab for the Hollywood studios, at the time of Marilyn's birth.

Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, at Los Angeles General Hospital. Gladys, not oblivious to the glamour and magic of the movies, named her child after Norma Talmadge, who ranked among the most popular of screen idols during the early to mid-1920s.
Norma Jeane began life with one significant strike against her: She had no father to help raise her, to protect her, or to love her. Though her birth certificate identifies her father as "Edward Mortenson," who was Gladys's second husband, most biographers agree that Norma Jeane's father was actually C. Stanley Gifford. Gifford also worked at Consolidated Film Industries, but he abandoned Gladys after being told of the pregnancy.
When she was a little girl, Norma Jeane asked her mother about a photo hanging on the wall. The photo showed an attractive man who wore a pencil-thin moustache, much like the one Clark Gable wore for most of his career. Gladys told her daughter that the photo was of her father.
Gifford was known to have resembled Gable, if only because of the moustache, and Norma Jeane fantasized for some time afterward that her father was Clark Gable. She often told her classmates that she was the daughter of the famous movie star.
Norma Jeane (who was baptized "Norma Jeane Baker") would never formally meet Gifford, the man that she believed to be her father. When she was a teenager, she tried to speak with him by telephone. She identified herself as "Norma Jeane, Gladys's daughter," but the party on the other end of the line simply hung up.
After Norma Jeane became the sensation called Marilyn Monroe, she supposedly attempted contact with Gifford again, this time in person. More than once, she drove south from Los Angeles with a close friend in tow to a small dairy farm near Hemet, California. On each occasion, she got out of the car, which was parked some distance from the farm, and walked toward the house alone. When she returned to the car, she informed her companion that her father had refused to see her.
Whether Marilyn actually spoke with Gifford on any of these occasions is not known. Perhaps she never found the nerve to actually knock on the front door; perhaps the farm did not belong to Gifford; perhaps Gifford was not her father at all.
Occasionally, the name "Edward Mortenson" crops up in early interviews and stories as the alleged father of Marilyn Monroe. Martin Edward Mortenson married Gladys Baker in 1924, but the couple had been separated long before Gladys became pregnant with Norma Jeane. Mortenson, an immigrant from Norway, was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1929.
It's difficult to overemphasize the significance behind these stories. Marilyn felt a profound loss at having never known a father. It left a scar that never healed. Her conflicting stories and fantasies about her father seem to represent her attempts to put her parentage in perspective or to come to grips with her hazy past.
Ultimately, these attempts were not enough. Just before her death in 1962, Marilyn filled out an official form in front of her secretary, who witnessed the melancholy star bitterly scribble "Unknown" on the line marked "Father."
Monroe biographers have learned that Marilyn's contradictory stories about her family point out a problem in uncovering the facts of young Norma Jeane's past. Marilyn often exaggerated, embellished, and fantasized about the dismal events of her childhood. Though a truly honest person at heart, she obviously felt the sting of her unfortunate beginnings to such a degree that it colored her interpretation of them.
Consequently, Marilyn's conflicting accounts of certain incidents in her life make putting together a definitive version of her formative years quite difficult. Some of what we do know about her childhood, including her time spent in an orphanage and in foster care, can be found on the next page.
Norma Jeane's mother, who most often used the name Gladys Baker, placed the infant Norma Jeane in the care of Ida and Wayne Bolender of Hawthorne, California. Life had not been particularly kind to Gladys. She had had two children -- Berniece and Hermitt Jack -- by her first marriage to Jack Baker, but he had taken the children away from her and moved to Kentucky prior to her marriage to Edward Mortenson.
Supposedly, Baker had left a note for Gladys that read, "I have taken the children, and you will never see them again." The absence of her first two children caused Gladys great pain, and her inability to take care of Norma Jeane added to that heartache and stress.
Gladys's family had a history of mental instability. Both of her parents, Otis and Delia Monroe, finished out their lives in mental institutions, and Gladys's brother, Marion Monroe, suffered from a problem diagnosed at the time as paranoid schizophrenia. Gladys battled demons of her own and spent much of her adult life in institutions.
Though Gladys was most likely manic depressive, some have labeled her paranoid schizophrenic. It was not uncommon during the 1930s and 1940s for those suffering from manic depression to be diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic, which accounts for the discrepancies in discussions of Gladys's case history.
Whatever the exact nature of Gladys's disorder, Marilyn had a morbid fear of genetic insanity throughout her life. Though manic and schizophrenic disorders have a tendency to run in families, this does not necessarily mean that Marilyn inherited an emotional disorder. It is just as likely that her early life of deprivation and insecurity accounted for her later psychiatric problems.
Ironically, perhaps, when Gladys boarded out Norma Jeane to the Bolenders 12 days after the baby's birth, it was because of financial difficulties -- not mental ones. Gladys went back to work at Consolidated Film Industries, paying the Bolenders five dollars per week to look after her baby. Each Saturday, Gladys would take the trolley to Hawthorne to visit Norma Jeane, who remembered Gladys as "the lady with red hair" rather than as her mother.
A devoutly religious couple, Wayne and Ida Bolender lived a comfortable existence in Hawthorne, a less-than-fashionable suburb of Los Angeles. Wayne worked as a postal carrier and was fortunate enough to remain employed throughout the Depression. In his spare time, he printed religious tracts.
Marilyn would later remember the couple's devotion to their religion as one that approached zealousness. She claimed that as the young Norma Jeane, she had to promise never to drink or swear, she had to attend church several times a week, and she was repeatedly told that she was going to Hell. Norma Jeane quickly learned to hide from the Bolenders if she wanted to sing, dance, or act out a fantasy life "more interesting than the one I had."
Though Norma Jeane regularly attended church with the Bolenders, she was taken by her grandmother, Della Monroe, to the Foursquare Gospel Church to be baptized by the flamboyant evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson. Della, a devout follower of Sister Aimee, had her granddaughter christened "Norma Jeane Baker."
When Norma Jeane was two years old, Della suffered a complete nervous breakdown, which led to her commitment to the Metropolitan State Hospital at Norwalk in Los Angeles County. A month later, Della died of a heart attack during a seizure.
Around 1933, Gladys and Norma Jeane experienced a change in luck. Gladys had earned enough money to put something down on a white bungalow near the Hollywood Bowl; for the first time, Norma Jeane actually lived with her mother.
At the time, Gladys was working as a film cutter at Columbia Pictures, but to make ends meet, she rented out most of the house to an English couple who had fringe jobs in the film industry. The man was a stand-in for the English actor George Arliss, while his wife was registered as an extra.
The atmosphere around the house was much looser than it had been at the Bolenders, and Norma Jeane's activities were not as restricted as before. She frequently attended the movies, most often at Grauman's Egyptian Theater but also at Grauman's Chinese Theater.
There, in the famed cement forecourt, she would place her small feet in the footprints of Gloria Swanson and Clara Bow. Much later in her life, when the world knew her as Marilyn Monroe, she would literally follow in those stars' footsteps when her own prints were captured for posterity.
The reunion of Gladys and Norma Jeane was all too brief. As the months went by, Gladys became increasingly depressed until, one morning in January of 1935, she lost control. Unable to calm Gladys down, the English couple telephoned her closest friend, Grace McKee, who suggested they call an ambulance.
Some accounts of this tragic episode report that Gladys came after Grace with a kitchen knife. Whatever the specific events, Norma Jeane's mother was taken away, first to Los Angeles General Hospital and then to Norwalk, where Della Monroe had died just a few years earlier.
Except for very brief periods, Gladys was institutionalized for the rest of her life. As she grew older, she too became fixated on religion and the need to atone for past sins, just as Della had done.
The English couple, whose names are not known, kept Norma Jeane for the better part of a year, though they were forced to move to a small apartment when they could not keep up the payments on Gladys's bungalow. Eventually, the couple returned to England, and Norma Jeane moved in with some neighbors, the Harvey Giffens.
Giffen offered to legally adopt Norma Jeane, as did one of Gladys's coworkers from Consolidated Film Industries, but Gladys refused. After the Giffens moved to Mississippi, Grace McKee was named legal guardian for the luckless little girl.
On September 13, 1935, Grace took Norma Jeane to the Los Angeles Orphans Home Society because she was unable to financially provide for her at that time. Norma Jeane's admittance to the orphanage represented rock bottom to a child whose short life had been nothing but a succession of low points.
In a 1962 interview, Marilyn recalled her immediate reaction to the orphanage: "I began to cry, 'Please, please don't make me go inside. I'm not an orphan, my mother's not dead. I'm not an orphan -- it's just that she's sick in the hospital and can't take care of me. Please don't make me live in an orphans' home.' "
Marilyn often painted a dark portrait of her two years in the orphanage, giving the impression that it was much harsher than it actually was. She claimed that she had to wash 100 cups, 100 plates, and 100 knives, forks, and spoons three times a day, seven days a week. For her efforts, she received five cents a month, four of which went into the collection plate at church.
Later, officials would dispute her version of daily life at the orphanage, pointing out that the children were not regimented to certain tasks and that great pains were taken to make the children feel they were part of one, big, happy family. More than likely, Norma Jeane was never mistreated at the Orphans Home Society, but her feelings of abandonment, loneliness, and insecurity were certainly accentuated by the experience.
In the summer of 1937, Grace at last rescued Norma Jeane from the orphanage. Earlier that year, Grace had married Ervin "Doc" Goddard, who had three children from a previous marriage. The couple was trying to establish some semblance of a normal family life in Doc's little home in Van Nuys.
Despite her attempts at domestic harmony, Grace decided to place her ward in a foster home. For poor Norma Jeane, it was a case of jumping out of the frying pan of the orphanage into the fire of a succession of foster homes.
During the Depression, couples who took in foster children received money from the state, an arrangement that did not encourage the noblest of motivations for helping out parentless children. Norma Jeane was so miserable in the foster homes in which she was placed that she asked Grace to send her back to the orphanage. It was then that Grace and Doc decided to keep Norma Jeane themselves.
At some point in her childhood, perhaps during this hazy period of foster-home existence, or perhaps even earlier, Norma Jeane was sexually molested. In recounting the story in later interviews, Marilyn variously gave her age at the time of the incident as 6, 8, 9, or at some time in adolescence. According to Marilyn, a family friend or boarder in the foster home in which she lived at the time molested -- or raped -- her in his room.
When she told her foster mother what had happened, the woman refused to believe her. In some versions of the story, the foster mother actually slapped Norma Jeane, shouting, "I don't believe you. Don't you dare say such things about that nice man." The resultant trauma left the terrified girl with a stutter, though in early interviews Marilyn attributed her childhood stutter to her abandonment at the orphanage.
Her lack of specific recall and her overall tendency to embellish stories about her childhood have led some insensitive biographers to assume that Marilyn invented or greatly exaggerated the molestation story to gain sympathy. Those who knew her personally, however, attest to the emotional honesty in her recountings of the past. Though the details of her story may vary, the basic truth seems to be that she was sexually abused as a child, and the memory haunted her for the rest of her life.

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest

The Gifford Pinchot, one of the many National Forests in the state of Washington, was rated one of the ten best in the country and number one in the best volcanoes category by GORP. Its entirety includes 1,312,000 acres plus a 12,276-foot mountain called Adams. The forest contains an astounding length of trail, 1,100 miles to be exact and is home to a well-known cave called Ape Cave and the Natural Bridges Loop where many cross-country skiers brave the trail. Ape Cave is a fairly large and well-known hole created by a massive lava flow thousands of years ago. Lanhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifterns and flashlights can be rented from the bookshop at the site to help people from all ages explore the 2-section cave. The lower cave extends 4000 feet while the upper cave extends 7000 feet.

Along with the volcanic mountain terrain in the Gifford

Stop Smoking the Easy Way!!!!">

Pinchot National Forest there are the more than 100 lakes and several waterfalls gracing the landscape. The once beautiful snow-capped Mount Saint Helens was home to the Spirit Lake resort. After the 1980 eruption cleared away the trees and snow from the landscape, few recreational possibilities seemed possible. However, in 1982 the President designated a 110,000-acre area as the National Volcanic Monument for research, recreation, and education. Mountaineers are granted access to climb the mountain year-round. Whether a person is a beginner or a novice the mountain accommodates all. Although a climbing permit is required for climbs above 4,800 feet the process is quick and very simple. Part of the allure of climbing a mountain like this is in the fact that it is an active volcano. Just south of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest is the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, which contains over 200 miles of trails. There was an Act that was signed into law by President Reagan in1986 that established this area as the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. This was not an Act to create a wilderness or park but was an Act for existing rural and scenic characteristics to be preserved. The 80-mile long gorge features four bridges for the outdoor enthusiast to traverse back and forth as desired from Washington over to Oregon. This 292,500-acre location provides an urban area that is home to 75,000 people but is also a place for many activities including hiking, mountain biking, windsurfing, camping, fishing, boating, wildlife watching, wildflower watching, photography, picnicking, and rock climbing. The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area website details the many available hiking trails including Eagle Creek Trail extending for 13.2 miles and fluctuating from 110 to 3360 feet in elevation. Wildflower watching is a regular activity in this area because of the variety that the location provides. Within the Scenic Area the rainfall fluctuates from 75 inches of average annual precipitation in the temperate rain forest at Oneonta Gorge to 12 inches of precipitation in the grasslands at Celilo.

The single most visited place in the state of Oregon happens to be in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States falling 620 feet from Larch Mountain. With almost two million visitors a year, Multnomah Falls even has rooms for people to stay overnight. On the Washington side of the Gorge sits Hardy Falls, a waterfall about 100 feet in height with a complementary rock of 600 feet called Beacon Rock.

President Obama, Congressional Democrats, and General Electric: Political Incest or Coincidences?

Several articles and revelations over the past few months have raised a curious relationship between President Obama, Democratic politicians, and General Electric. It could all be a coincidence, but it also could be a classic example of the cozy relationship between powerful interests in business and government getting together. Woodrow Wilson recognized this type of incestuous political relationship almost one hundred years ago: "The government, which was designed for the people, has got into the hands of bosses and their employees, the special interests. An invishttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifible empire has been set up above the forms of democracy."

Did Wilson get it right? You decide, coincidence or political incest:

- Before going into the first point, remember that the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress from 2007 through 2010 and controlled the White House for the past two and a half years. Thus, no one can totally blame Bush for the following situations.

A few months ago news reports were all a flutter when it was revealed that General Electric had over $14 billion in worldwide profits and over $5.1 billion in domestic earnings in 2010 but had not paid any Federal income taxes.

Make Money Online from Home!">

In fact, not only did GE not pay any income taxes, the Federal government, via the income tax laws and process, actually gave GE a $3.2 billion dollar tax refund. This happened when Democrats were in charge of just about any function of government.

The Democrats almost made GE pay some taxes. "Active Financing" is when a company like GE makes a loan overseas and generates interest income. Under current tax laws, all of that revenue is tax free. A few years ago, Congress was looking to close this loophole, an action that was supported by Charles Rangel, then the chairman of the House Ways and Means committee. His committee had the primary responsibility for writing and revising the tax code.

One day, Rangel was fully supportive of closing the loophole and forcing overseas American financing companies to pay taxes on the active financing revenue. However, almost overnight, Rangel reversed his position and as chairman of the committee was able to block any attempt to close the loophole, a loophole that would have generated billions of dollars a year for the Treasury. Turns out a GE foundation shortly afterwards donated $30 million to New York City schools, of which $11 million went to schools in Charles Rangel's Congressional district.

Thus, GE avoids possibly billions in taxes over the years while Democrat Rangel gets a one time gift worth only millions for his district. Coincidence or incest?

- It is no secret that the economic policies of this administration and the Democratic Party controlled Congress have been a disaster. High unemployment persists, private sector job growth is anemic, economic growth is low, and the national debt skyrockets. The President is desperate to find a way to generate job growth. What does he do?

He calls Jeff Immelt, currently the CEO of General Electric and appoints him chairman of the newly formed Presidential Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, a group given the task of generating ideas for job growth. Shortly thereafter, rumors start in Washington that Immelt is going to leave General Electric and take a high ranking job with the Obama administration. Incest or coincidence?

- In an article written by Charles Kadiec of Forbes, which was summarized in the May 20, 2011 issue of The Week magazine, we find another Obama/GE tryst. The article was titled "Obama Can't Hide His Lust For Power." According to Mr. Kadiec, Jeff Immelt of CEO of General Electric (you remember him from above), was a major contributor to Obama's 2008 Presidential campaign. He was also one of the first American CEOs to ask the administration for a financial bailout from TARP.

However, while the administration capped executive bonuses at other financial institutions and companies that received TARP bail out funds, the Obama administration placed no such limits on GE's executive compensation processes. Incest or coincidence?

- The next example comes from the March 16, 2011 issue of Forbes magazine. In an article titled, "Chevy Volt: The Car From Atlas Shrugged Motors - Who Is Going To buy All These Cars" and it was written by Patrick Michaels. Mr. Michaels was not too kind in his review of the Volt concept, General Motors' all electric car:

* The Volt will cost over $40,000 so GM successfully lobbied the administration and the political class to give Volt buyers a $7,500 federal rebate for buying a GM Volt.

* A Volt model failed to start when it was to be demonstrated at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, not a good start.

* The expected mileage using a fully charged Volt battery had been continuously revised downward, so much now that it is expected to have only a 25 to 50 mile range on electric power only.

* Consumer Reports ran a series of tests on the Volt and they estimated that the electric motor range is only 25 miles or so and it gets that much only because the Volt heating system is especially weak since running the heater drains the battery even quicker. The article questions how much lower the mileage will go in hot weather and the car's air conditioning system is working.

* The Volt requires premium fuel so any gas savings from using the electric motor is at least partially offset by the more expensive use of premium gas.

* The Volt has been billed as an electric car that has a small gas motor that kicks in when the electric battery runs out of power. However, according to the article, the premium gas engine also kicks in when the vehicle travels at highway speeds. Thus, the Volt is really not a revolutionary electric car, it is a hybrid car. Nothing special, considering the many other hybrid cars on the market that sell for much less and get nowhere near as much taxpayer subsidy.

* GM has announced that they will produce 100,000 Volts in the next two years but in the three months preceding this Forbes article, only 928 Volts had been sold in total.

This is a major embarrassment not only to GM but also to the Obama administration who has been a big advocate of electric cars. If the Volt fails and tens of thousands of Volts are not sold, it will seriously damage the Obama administration's goal of getting a million electric cars on the roads of America within a few years. It will not look good if the primary driver of this goal, the Volt, has unwanted vehicles sitting in GM's parking lots.

However, not to worry. According to the article, General Electric has committed to buying 50,000 Volts in the next two years, seriously reducing the possibility that Volts will go unsold in the short term. Almost everybody wins in this case. General Motors is happy to sell a poorly performing auto. President Obama is happy because it falsely looks like he is greening the country. General Electric is happy because President Obama is happy.

The only people that are not happy are U.S. taxpayers. If GE actually buys the 50,000 Volts, the U.S. government will be paying GE $375,000,000 of taxpayer money via the Volt rebate program that GM lobbied so hard for. Thus, not only did GE not pay any income taxes in 2010 and received a $3.2 billion Federal income tax credit, they will also get another $375 million in this Volt deal while continuing to cozy up to the Obama administration. Incest or coincidence?

- Why might GE want to continue to cozy up to the Obama administration? GE is one of the largest wind energy turbine manufacturers in the world. What if somewhere in the near future, the political class decided to give tax breaks to companies that invest in alternative energy sources, say wind? Incest of coincidence?

Pretty sad stuff. U.S. taxpayers suffer while political favors are bought and paid for. This is why we need to change our political processes so that they would allow only individual citizens to contribute to political campaigns. Corporations like GE, unions, PACs, etc. would not be allowed to contribute to campaigns. In this world, politicians would be much more likely to act for the good of the country and not the good of their next election campaign. Taxpayer money would not be wasted on projects that benefit only the political class and the unions and businesses that fund our politicians.

Until we can make these changes to get the big organized money out of our politics we will likely see more and more political incest.

Washington’s dirty little secret they don’t want you to know about

Have you filled up the gas tank lately?

If you have then you know it is a pain at the pump for everybody in America. But the real pain is something most middle Americans don’t even know about, and I’m not even talking about the 47% of the country that does not pay taxes. No, I’m talking about the people who do pay taxes and work their butts off to make a living.

Like a lot of Americans, I am not a happy camper and I am not happy with the incredible misdirection this country is going in with its spend, spend, spend policies. I’m not sure what its like in your house, but in mine if we can afford something, we can afford something, but we don’t have the luxury of printing money by the truckload to spend beyond our means. The main problem is, these spending policies are only going to further weaken our economy.

This afternoon Pres. Obama is to make a speech explaining how we’re supposed to get out of this mess – or how it is often described by this current White House – “potential financial Armageddon.” In my opinion if there are not significant spending cuts, we’re going to see a lot of pressure on the market. Unfortunately I think this speech will probably be long on rhetoric and short on details. That seems to be the style in Washington these days.

Okay I promised you the dirty little secret that Washington doesn’t want you to know about and here goes… Now most of you reading this blog are pretty sophisticated, far more than the general public, but the reality is that we keep debasing currency and this is why commodities and why oil to a large part are going up in pricing. Yes, I know about the Middle East and all the problems there and it certainly is a factor that cannot be ignored. However, we are seeing the demand from around the world.

The world has changed and we unfortunately still believe we are the crème de la crème superpower and leaders of the free world when in fact, things have shifted subtly and ever so stealthily to Asia. You cannot expect all the jobs in a country to be exported and still have a strong economy. That’s what many corporations did here in the US simply because it was more profitable to do business overseas and not deal with all of the regulations that keep getting more and more onerous in this country.

So okay I know this is a rant, but quite frankly I think it is reflective of a lot of thinking out there in terms of being frustrated, angry, and just plain mad at the lack of real leadership. What bothers me more than anything else is the fact that the politicians are only interested in one thing and it’s not the country. They may say it’s the country, but in reality it’s getting re-elected that really matters to them. This is not what this country needs nor wants at the present time. We are living in a very, very competitive world and unless we have some idea of what we’re doing and how to do it, we will be subjected to more and more pressure on the dollar and therefore on our lifestyles.

Here’s an idea that has been kicked around for a long time, but never seems to get any traction. Why not just do away with all of the so-called tax benefits like home mortgages and such and just have a simple flat tax? If you’re an entrepreneur in a country that was built on entrepreneurship, you need to know what the tax basis can be and what you’re going to face in the future. If everyone just paid a flat tax no matter how little or how much money you had, I would consider that to be a fair system. Why should you be penalized for being successful? It’s insane!

Now I’m lucky – if you can call years of hard work, luck. I can afford to pay higher taxes, but the reality is why should I pay higher taxes when up to 47% of the country pays no taxes? I came to this country from England because of a tax policy that offered no incentive for anyone to get ahead. I came here when most Americans used to save money, most Americans had a job, and most Americans felt good about the future.

Fast-forward a generation and you see what has happened. We exported millions of jobs and now we have no choice but to buy countless goods from the countries that actually have the factories to produce these items. Yes, I know there are a few exceptions such as the automobile industry, Caterpillar, and a few others that have kept jobs in the country, but the reality is that we’ve given away so much and gotten so little in return.

It’s time to make a stand and make some hard decisions. The entitlement mentality is insane and everyone knows that there is no money. Period. If you print more money to pay for these entitlements and further debase the currency this will just force a further push upward in the price of gasoline and also other necessary goods like food. It’s interesting to me that they come out and say, well the inflation index isn’t bad, but how can they say that when they leave out these two crucial elements?

Okay, that’s it. I’ve said enough and you know where I stand on the subject, but now I want to welcome your comments – either pro or against. One thing we still have going for us is that this is still a country of free speech and free markets.

One last thing, we’ve just finished the first quarter and I expect we’re going to have some phenomenal markets both on the upside and the downside and I’m confident that our Trade Triangles will show us the way. I've Never Been So Happy to Lose Money

I've made one really bad decision with money. In 2008 we bough a rental property in the North Georgia mountains. This month we sold it - and I never thought this day would arrive.

We lost money, and I've never been happier to lose money before. Because now we can stop throwing good money after bad and start recouping what we've lost. Now, we start moving ahead.

At the time we bought this rental cabin we'd sold 3 previous homes; 2 that we lived in and one that Becky had lived in then rented out. All of those previous homes were sold for a profit. But the rental house was painful, and took its toll mentally and financially. So this article is all about learning from my mistakes.

Lesson number one is to buy low and sell high. We did neither. We bought at the peak of the housing bubble. A few months later the bubble burst and the market crashed, hard. Goldman Sachs apparently knew the crash was looming as early as 2006 and hedged against it. Gifford and Gifford did not!

Lesson two, if you want a rental property you need to know what it can really rent for. We had two main property managers we wanted to work with because this was going to be an out of state venture for us ... even though the cabin was just a few miles from Becky's parents.

The first company was good about detailing what percentage their share would be, but couldn't give us a good idea of what we might rent out the cabin for. The second company told us what we wanted to hear. Then, once we signed with them, we ended up renting for half of what they said they'd charge our renters. Ouch!

All of our calculations had been based on twice as much as we ended up getting. I had assumed weekends-only as a baseline, 8 rented nights per month as a minimum. With that alone, based on the property managers initial calculations, we'd have broken even (with tax breaks and made a profit during peak seasons). End of the day I've broken even in exactly one month, and never made a profit. Ugh.

Lesson three, insurance for a vacation rental property is much higher than for a rental property with a full time-resident or a home you own. Ugh. We didn't know this going in and had we, we would have waived off.

Lesson four, go with a place with more bedrooms. Our place was really a one bedroom with a loft. We looked at some cheaper but more remote places that had 2 bedrooms plus lofts. These properties could have housed 8 or more people. These models also had space for a pool table which apparently is very popular for this region. Who knew? Not us.

So lesson five is do not mirror image. By that I mean don't assume that what interests you is what will interest your renter's demographic. A lot of what we bought in this place fit our taste. Apparently, when people want to vacation in the mountains they don't mind being remote. Not a big selling point for us, but it is a key point for our target demographic.

Lesson six can apply to anyone buying a house, rental or otherwise. If the appraisal comes in low, use that to get out ... or negotiate a better deal. Instead we foolishly sought a different bank to fiancee with. Nothing against the bank, just a bad decision when we could have saved money or backed out. Especially since there were other, viable options.

So when does owning a vacation rental property make sense? When you can pay for it in cash. And you want to stay there yourself from time to time. And you are close enough to fix things yourself, quickly. We even had a break-in/robbery shortly after buying the place and had TVs stolen. Easier to deal with these things if you are local. Becky's folks did a ton for us, no doubt, but that is a lot to ask of family. Again, much better if you can tackle it locally on your own.

What could I have done with the money instead? Invested it. Of course the market has not fully recovered from its peak but most of our investments are nearing where they were prior to the crash. And putting more money into stocks after the crash makes sense when you're investing for the long haul, back to the aforementioned buy low and sell high methodology. Missed a good opportunity there.

Savings, oh sweet mother of pearl, I should've saved this money for a down payment on our final house. The place we'll live when I eventually retire from active duty and stop moving every 2 years. We could have put the money in a CD and made some money back. Or we could've dropped that dough in my kids' 529 plans. In retrospect, these were all much better options.

The other thing we could've/should've done is wait. Neither one of us was totally for the idea. It was my wife's idea first, then she got cold feet (smartly!). But I thought this was something she really wanted and might have been a good place for her and the kids to hang had I ended up on a deployment for a year (Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea etc). Also we'd done so well in real estate with the previously mentioned houses that I didn't want a portfolio without any real estate. Had we waited for the market to crash we'd have either waived off or bought low!

Now to be fair the rental market has increased for us with each successive year. And if that trend continued in 2011 we might have actually eventually broken even. But it is not worth the stress. Every time you think you're about to get ahead of the game a hot tub cover needs replaced, the washing machine breaks, or someone complains about a mattress and you drop big coin to get a new one. Or some fool reserves a week - golden! Then they leave after the first night. Now it is too late to get anyone into the place for the rest of the week. Ugh. We've been, most months since we bought the place, carrying what equates to two mortgages (although actually it is a mortgage on the rental and rent on our residence.)

Now that we've closed, and taken our licks, we can start investing both in the federal government's 401K plan and Colin's 529 (Liv will get to benefit from my new GI Bill ... we only have to cover 1 year for her undergraduate degree, yay!) The 401K plan, or TSP, gets us tax breaks as well as systematic investing. Though not without risk, it is an much better bet than the rental cabin.

We will earn it all back eventually. And now that we're out from under the cabin experiment, we have a ton more monthly money freed up with which to buy camera gear! Oh wait, my wife is glaring at me. Ok, so we'll save for a "final" house and invest for retirement and college. Either way it feels like we've won the lotto. Moreover, the stress on us has been lifted. We're among the lucky ones who did not end up in a short sale or foreclosure in what were, and in many cases still are, very dark times for real estate.

Now there are some people out there that are making huge bank off of their rental properties. Maybe they can leave a comment about what has worked for them that we should have done differently. But again my advice is put money in the house you live in, in a 401K and in no-load, index funds. Baseball cards are probably a better bet as well!

Poker face of President Obama and mysterious golf.

President Obama did quite a lot of things before he reported to the nation and to the world that bin Laden had been killed by a group of brave soldiers of Americans. He even went to play golf before the mission. The interesting was that he just played nine holes, instead of his customary 18. All thing seemed in a cover of veil. Now let's have a review of that special 72 hours.
In a remarkable 72 hours during his ruling time, Barack Obama carried a great secret and gave no hint of it as on the surface he was busying in consoling the tornado victims, delivering a college commencement address and cracking jokes at a black-tie dinner.
You can't imagine what few people knew about what the president would do in the later hours. Actually, he ordered the military operation and killed bin Laden, who killed a lot of innocent people in the United States and all around the globe.
After giving his approval, Obama, together with his wife Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia left the White House on a busy day of travel, along the way they made three stops in two states. Seems really engaged in the busy schedule. Vey few people turned their attention to another country to see what was happening their.
In Alabama, one of several Southern states greatly damaged by fierce tornados, Obama assumed his role as consoler in chief as he and the first lady went straight to communities in Tuscaloosa that had been damaged by the twisters.
Next stop: Cape Canaveral, Florida, even though Endeavour's launch, the next to last one before the shuttle fleet is retired, had been abandoned for technical reasons well before Obama left Alabama. He stuck to his schedule and went to inspect NASA facilities with his family. He also met privately with US Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. US Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was severely wounded in a January shooting rampage in Tucson, Arizona. Her husband, Mark Kelly, very famous, is the shuttle commander.
The president also delivered an evening speech at Miami Dade College before he got back to Washington.
More was being played later.
On Saturday, Obama showed up at the White House Correspondents' Association annual dinner and lobbed a few barbs at Donald Trump after having endured weeks of attacks by the prospective Republican presidential candidate on the issue over whether Obama is US-born.
On Sunday, Obama headed for the Andrews Air Force Base golf course. Weather permiting, he always turns up here for the pastime.. But he only played 9 holes and left after about four hours. All the reporters are deceived by the weather. They thought the rainy weather left Obma with no interest in it. We had to admit that even the weather condition was on the side with President Obama. But the fact was that Obama was headed for a meeting to review final preparations for the operation against bin Laden after he left the golf course..
In retrospect, there were some meager clues that something may have been going on. Obama went straight to the Oval Office in his golf shoes, instead of to the residence as he normally does after golf. Photos showed him looking tense and clench-jawed.
All went out of the hat late Sunday when Obama told the nation shortly before midnight that bin Laden had been killed by US forces.
Let's to say golf is not merely a sport. Should you have any interest, you can also use golf to create miracles. Don't have the basic equipment? Not serious. Texas Togetherness, Obama-Style

In "Grease," Danny and Sandy memorably sang, "We go together like rama lama lama ke ding a de dinga a dong remembered for ever like shoo bop shoo wadda wadda yipitty boom de boom."

Rama lamas, ke dings, shoo bops, and boom de booms aside, our president has a radically different view of what most Americans believe "going together" and "togetherness" mean. His view is that they mean going and being together on the surface until the next election and in the interim he's into anything but true inclusiveness.

Central to the prospects of four more years of Obamian divisiveness, race-baiting, economic stagflation, socializing health care, et al. is the administration's linkage of those groups he must cajole and pay off. All others can go to hell.

His prime constituencies, misguided whites who will again vote for Obama in repentance for white guilt, naive blacks who would vote for him en masse even if he were to profess membership in Al-qaeda, gays who have gotten virtually all they have demanded and want even more, and the millions of hispanics who especially like him because he hates us gringos as much as they do.

Nowhere has Obama's obsequious catering to the hispanic vote been more blatant than in his southern border policy, or lack thereof.

Janet Napolitano's TSA got a temporary Texan comeuppance to its insane airport security pat-down policies which this week incorporated a diaper wrinkle as TSA agents literally sniffed into an infant's nappy in search of a bomb. Late Thursday, the Texas House passed a bill that would make "inappropriate" touching of a traveller's "anus, sexual organ, buttocks, or breast," including through clothing, a criminal act. No mention was made of diapers.

No mention of any of that touching is necessary with regard to America's borders which Big Bro Obama and Big Sis Napolitano contend are as secure as the White House grounds. well, maybe not that secure but certainly as secure as New York City, well, maybe not that secure either but very secure, really.

Our president has more on his mind than borders, anyway. His "kinetic action," which used to be called war, in Libya is a continuing headache. Carbon emissions may carbonize the planet in a century or so, or may not, perturbs him. He still hopes to fully implement a health care plan which few people want. And then there's Michelle's terror of childhood obesity which could result in fat adults and somehow thereby endanger our national security!

But, borders? Nah, no sweat.

To demonstrate his lack of concern, and to further solidify his standing with hispanics, legal and not, citizens and squatters alike, Obama went south last Monday to pay a visit to our side of the Mexican border at El Paso.

Fearful that his trip might be misinterpreted as an expression of interest in legal Americans being subjected to the murders and general mass mayhem visited upon them daily by invading forces from the south, Obama made sure to roundly ridicule those issues, those legal Americans, and the absurdity of the idea of erecting a fence to protect them and their property.

Standing safely under Secret Service guard, the president joked, "You know, they said 'we needed to triple the border patrol.' Well, now they're going to say we need to quadruple the border patrol, or they'll want a higher fence. Maybe they'll need a moat. Maybe they'll want alligators in the moat. They'll never be satisfied."

Yuk, yuk, guffaw, guffaw, what a hoot! Maybe toss some piranhas in the moat with those gators!

Who writes this guy's lines? The Mexican drug cartels? Mexican Presidente Felipe de Jesús Calderón Hinojosa? That one was almost as uproarious as his making fun of Special Olympics kids on Leno.

DHS Sec. Napolitano has been touting recent border successes which one observer points out is far more attributable to illegals discouraged by America's miserable economy and opting to risk murder in Mexico rather than risky life in America than by any improved security. He adds, "In fiscal year 2009, compared with 2008, administrative arrests of illegal workers fell 68 percent, criminal arrests fell 60 percent, criminal indictments fell 58 percent, and criminal convictions fell 63 percent."

It's all good, though, for Obama.

Cartel leaders, Calderón, and every illegal alien this side of Canada must have laughed themselves silly over the president reducing to a joke a dire threat to America's security and territorial integrity. (For information on MEChA, the "Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan," and other separatist movements, see http://bit.ly/jj42Kl)

No matter. All of the above is of no consequence. The main thing to remember is that Obama is bringing us together, even if the antecedent of "us" doesn't refer to anyone who didn't vote for him in 2008 or isn't planning to vote for him next year. Just sing along with Sandy and Danny,

We go together like
rama lama lama
ke ding a de dinga a dong
remembered for ever like
shoo bop shoo wadda wadda yipitty boom de boom

Obama's Birth Certificate and College Transcripts Theories

It's far too early to tell how history will regard the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama, although there are clear indices it will be as an abject failure, but we already know he will go down as the most secretive and controversial president since Richard Nixon. The controversies over two issues, his birth certificate and his college transcripts, continue to swirl and cloud his office and that swirling and clouding are Obama's own doing.

These may or not be new news concerning those documents to many readers but they're relatively new theories to me. Since Obama has adamantly refused to release either a valid birth certificate or his transcripts-or his medical records-and since both theories make a great deal of sense and are entirely feasible, I'm sharing them.

THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE QUESTIONS: Even after so-called "Birthers" have been dismissed for years as fruitcakes by the MSM, they have very much in the news lately thanks largely to Donald Trump, a quasi-birther. True birthers express very serious reservations concerning Obama's origins-Kenya or Hawaii. The Donald simply says he doesn't know.

He cites the millions Obama has spent to suppress the information, the silliness of his offering a useless Hawaiian "certificate of live birth," the inability of the Democrat governor and friend of the Obama family to locate a real birth certificate, and his hope that it doesn't become an issue in the 2012 election when Trump may be the Republican nominee.

That last is as likely as Dennis Kucinich being the Dem nominee but the issues Trump raises are all valid and amount to the same question Birthers have: Is Obama constitutionally qualified to serve as President of the United States?

THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE THEORY: Obama was, probably, born in the United States which raises the question that, if he were, why all the subterfuge and evasion? Why not just release and publish a public document, dispel all the doubts and innuendo, and effectively bury Trump and the Birthers and get on with governing unimpeded by doubts?

The reason and purpose of the president's and the Democrat Party's fraud? It's not to conceal Obama's POB but rather his religion. His father was born a Muslim and under Islamic law the offspring of a Muslim is Muslim. Despite his protestations to the contrary and his 20 year membership in the church of pseudo-Christian Jeremiah Wright, he is a Muslim.

Is it any wonder that in the midst of a worldwide war with Islam the president would want to conceal that fact? It would not only undermine his credibilty but his veracity, honesty, trustworthiness, character, and stature.

THE COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS QUESTION: I would want to hide my college transcripts from the public mainly because, well, let's just say I underachieved my first two years as opposed to our president who was a stand-out achiever since the day he was born. Obama, our scholar leader, was always an excellent student, we're told.

His mother, the late Stanley Ann Dunham Obama Soetoro, the "dominant figure" in Obama's "formative years," seems to have had a special affinity for Muslims and Marxists. After her divorce from professed Marxist, Barack Obama, Sr., who gave Obama his "Dreams," and marriage to Indonesian Lolo Soetero, she moved to Indonesia where her only son was registered at school as "Barry Soetero" and his religion as "Islam:" http://bit.ly/LBWtn

He went off to Occidental College in 1979 found it not to his liking and transferred to Columbia University, located in Harlem, New York, in 1981. That began a mysterious two years during which he traveled to Muslim Indonesia, India, and Muslim Pakistan.

THE COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS THEORY: This theory is predicated on the assumption that Barry, now "Barack," achieved excellent grades at Columbia which begs the question of why he wouldn't want to release his transcripts. After all, America loves smart presidents.

Citing student privacy rights, both Occidental and Columbia have also refused to release Obama's records which brings us to the theory: Obama may have been a stellar student but what courses did he take in pursuit of his political science degree with a minor in international relations before heading off to become a community organizer, to Harvard Law, graduating magna cum laude, to lecturing at the University of Illinois, and into politics?

Is it not reasonable that the public would be curious as to what he studied during his mysterious years at Columbia where few people remember him? We know his wife, the very race-conscious Michelle LaVaughan Robinson, wrote her Princeton master's thesis on blacks at her school. As for her husband, we know nothing about Barack at Columbia other than he was in attendance and, as he has admitted, spent a good deal of time boozing and doing drugs.

The transcript theorists, again reasonably, speculate he has something to hide.

It could not have been his grades since they earned him entrance to Harvard Law so what is it? The theorists suspect it was the content of his courses. Was he focused on studying Marxism, socialism, the politics of revolution, radical socio-politico thought, how to fool some of the people often enough to win the presidency, how to bankrupt a nation?

Apparently, no one will ever learn the answers to those pertinent queries, questions he could easily answer by releasing his transcripts, questions whose answers would be very enlightening but remain cloaked in more mystery.

Religion is incidental to a presidency, unless that religion is that of a declared, religious-inspired enemy. One's college grades are of even less significance, unless those grades were in subjects suggestive of the mindset and indoctrination of an American president.

We may never know the answers to either the birth certificate or transcript questions. That it is entirely within Obama's control to dispel the doubts and refuses to do so is a contributory factor in his failed presidency.

The secret of quitting smoking

Maybe that all the smokers have known that quitting smoking is not an easy task because it demands great determination and will energy. They all know that nicotine is a highly addictive substance which may make a person essentially crave for a smoke and this stops them from stopping the habit permanently. Even the President of the United States, Barack Obama, appreciates how hard it is to kick the nicotine habit. And it's a tough habit to break, as he even avoids remaining photographed "falling off of the metaphorical wagon".

Are you a heavy smoker? Have you ever tried to quit smoking? Actually there are lots of quit smoking goods on the market in the sector, but the most successful solution is the electronic cigarette or we called e-cigarette.

And a year ago, I've tried quitting smoking a ton of times and it's something I've never been able to do until I have tried the electronic cigarette.

The electronic cigarette is harmless it only contains a modest volume of nicotine, from to 8 milligrams, propylene glycol, and is h2o-centered so the smoke you inhale and exhale is in truth not smoke but vapor, which harms neither your lungs, nor the air. The principle of the electronic cigarette is as simple as possible. It is composed out of a microcomputer, a battery, an atomizer and a cartridge. The battery is activated by means of the microcomputer when inhaling and the microcomputer turns the atomizer on, which vaporized the solution of nicotine in the cartridge.
The electric cigarette does give you the nicotine your body craves and that's for sure what I need to quit smoking. Though there is simulated smoke comes from e-cigarette, which isn't real smoke, it's a water vapor but it looks like smoke when you exhale.

People who are struggling to quit smoking may know that the electronic cigarette is not the first thing that came along for helping us hardcore smokers kick the habit but it may be the most effective one. E- Cigarette can also help smokers save money, because it cost less than buying cigarettes. Pickegg offers the most complete variety of electronic cigarettes and also the healthiest ones. With an e-cigarette, you can smoke anywhere, on the bus, on a plane, anywhere smoking isn't allowed you can smoke e-cigarette, because it's not a real cigarette. No cig smoke, no tar, no smell and no tobacco. Always there are the young people who are not smokers are going to get some just for playing cool. The smokers bought them for preparation when they are at the places that they really need a cigarette and can't have one.

If you are planning to quit smoking you might want to give the electronic cigarette a try. It's not a new thing now, for there are so many smokers have got its help and have quitted smoking now.
