Why Do You Think They Stopped Calling it Global Warming?

Ever wonder why Al Gore and his ilk stopped using the term "global warming" and switched to "climate change"? Here's an interesting article (one of many) that illustrates how little we know about what is going on with the climate. The article suggests that (gasp!) the sun may actually have a bigger impact on global temps that man! Of course, even cooling temperatures have been sited by Gore, et al. as proof of global warming. The perfect theory! No matter what happens, more rain, less rain, snow in July, they are covered!

Taste Test

I have to admit, I've become a fan of unfiltered wheats. Evidently, I am not alone, as the market is being flooded (figuratively) with the stuff. It's light, it's refreshing, and has a smoother texture and a fruity flavor when compared to other brews. Although I am certainly not in this demographic, it seems to appeal to people who don't typically like beer. Of course, you knew it wouldn't be long before the 800 lb. gorilla of the brewing industry took notice. Any company that would introduce a drink that combines beer, clam, and tomato juice (Chelada) isn't going to leave any money on the table when comes to unfiltered wheat. Anheuser-Busch tip-toed into the market at first, introducing Shock-Top, actually a very pleasant brew. Now, they are bringing out the big guns, introducing Bud Light Golden Wheat. When A-B attaches the Bud Light name to a brew, you know they're serious (although Bud Light Chelada makes me wonder). Always with the macro-brews, the goal is not so much to make a product that everyone will like, but more importantly one which no one will hate. They seem to have hit the mark here. BLGW is completely inoffensive and smooth. There is the citrus note typical of this style, but the coriander is toned down to lowest-common-denominator levels. Judged on it's merits, not a bad effort, and worth trying if you're looking for something a bit different but don't want to risk $8-12 on something that may taste like swill.

Here's an interesting article from the UK Telegraph about the ubiquitous bar code...
